“Natto”recipe
A traditional Japanese superfood!
Natto is a dish of fermented whole soybeans that contains the Bacillus natto bacterium. Also known as the “meat of the fields,” it is a traditional food familiar to the Japanese. The only ingredients in natto are soybeans and Bacillus natto, so it is safe and highly nutritious.
Natto utilizes the whole soybean, so it retains all the goodness of the bean. The natto bacterium works to make this an even more outstanding food.
Natto’s health benefits as an ingredient are believed to be a result of the polyamines, soy isoflavones, soy saponins, soy lecithin, and unique nattokinase enzyme that it contains.
How is natto good for your body?
A wonderfully nutritious food
Natto contains five macronutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamins, and minerals).
The protein in soybeans is easily absorbed by the body when the soybeans are made into natto, and their dietary fiber also remains intact.
Natto also contains various vitamins (B1, B2, and K) produced by Bacillus natto, and these are said be effective in relieving fatigue, promoting growth, and preventing osteoporosis.
Intestinal action
The intestines are home to more than 100 trillion intestinal bacteria in 1,000 species. Intestinal bacteria include good, bad, and opportunistic bacteria, and the intestinal environment is maintained by a balance of these bacteria. Bacillus natto promotes the growth of good bacteria, such as lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria, and inhibits the multiplying of bad bacteria.
Natto has the added benefit of the dietary fiber derived from soybeans, which helps regulate the intestinal environment. In addition, Bacillus natto produces a large number of digestive enzymes, which assist food digestion.
Blood thinning and prevention of high blood pressure
The nattokinase enzyme is produced by Bacillus natto and is found in the stickiness of natto.
This enzyme helps dissolve blood clots and is said to be ideal for preventing thrombosis, for example, in the form of strokes and myocardial infarction.
Nattokinase is also thought to lower cholesterol levels.
Skin care, prevention of osteoporosis, and anti-aging
Soy isoflavones function similarly to the female hormone estrogen, and can give skin and hair elasticity and luster.
They may also ease the discomfort caused by menopause.
Soy saponins are antioxidants and promote lipid metabolism, so they are said to be effective against obesity and arteriosclerosis.
Polyamines are thought to have a positive anti-aging effect.
They maintain normal cell activity, prevent inflammation in the body, and are essential for maintaining human health, but their number decreases with age.
Natto is fermented with Bacillus natto, and this process has been shown to further increase the number of polyamines in soybeans.
Soy lecithin works to reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and improve blood circulation.
It can also increase HDL (good) cholesterol.
Natto has many such health benefits. For your health and the health of your family, how about incorporating it in your diet?
Filling you with energy first thing in the morning
In Japanese, the kanji characters for Asaichiban (朝一番) mean “first thing in the morning.” We are a family business passed down through three generations, and the Asaichiban natto brand was inspired by the idea of providing a healthy, well-balanced, and nutritious breakfast for people who wish to start the day full of energy. In fact, Asaichiban natto will give you energy and the nutrients your body needs whenever you eat it, be that for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Asaichiban natto is made using traditional methods from carefully selected soybeans and Bacillus natto. It is rich in healthy nutrients and contains vitamin K2, protein, and dietary fiber.
Furthermore, it has a uniquely delicious flavor and texture.
